Fortunately there are not only mass production horror style dolls but also artistic works of high standard.
I happened to meet a Russian artist, Targhis from Saint Petersburg, who produces unique handmade dolls. Her theme choice is influenced by Dark Gothic thus beside the Phantom she made also Herbert from the musical The Dance of the Vampires, Gomez and Morticia Addams and Dr. Jekyll. Targhis created also dolls inpired by the great figures of movie history such as  Buster Keaton, Chaplin and Rudolf Valentino, as well as the figurines of Uwe Kröger and Kirill Gordeev from the word of musicals.
The composition titled Music of the Night consists of Phantom and Christine figurines from the Russian production of the Lloyd Webber's musical. The height of the composition is app. 20 cm and made of polymer clay, with elaborately worked out details. The impression of Targhis' dolls is unique, charming and catching.
